Michael Van Nort received a Bachelor’s Degree in fine arts from Binghamton University and a Master’s Degree in elementary education from Hofstra University.  While teaching third grade, MVN realized that his favorite part about teaching was redecorating his classroom, so he returned to the classroom himself to obtain formal training. In 2003, MVN completed an Associate’s Degree in interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and began working at  boutique design firm Full Scale, Inc. After five successful years there, MVN went on to work for Jed Johnson Associates and then for design industry leaders Donghia and Holly Hunt, before opening his own design studio in 2012.  MVN’s passion for design extends beyond interiors into entertaining and events.  Event services include menu planning, table settings, floral design and holiday décor, along with complete event coordination for intimate occasions.
